I also have noticed in a lot of popular "learn to draw" books there are extra lines sort of sketched in that aren't the actual drawing, sometimes even right across a character's eyes.

Ah, yeah. ID3 was useful once. I think only a freeform field is going to work. If you type something stupid into it, well, you're unique I guess.

Ovid A, but that's too Radiohead.

My distribution app, DistroKid, gives me a dropdown of genres that is frustratingly off-the-mark and I think just represents the overlap between the services they submit to. If you are "French Pop" you're good. If you select Electronic you MUST select a subgenre, none of which are even close.

Besides, Distrokid's Mixea isn't going to hand your demo out to cool people at parties and say "listen to this thing I mastered for _YOUR BAND_".

Generative AI, in my understanding, takes an input, and then breaks it into pieces and makes a fitness test that is applied to what is generated to see if it looks like the input transformed as desired.

So the output is no longer even made out of your input, it's something new.

Is that right?

It might be 99% similar, but even if it was undetectably different from doing it yourself, there's kind of a "Ceci n'est pas une pipe" thing going on that bugs me.

I suppose an apologist could say we already crossed that bridge with A/D and D/A conversion, or VSTs. I believe that's different.

The words "lonely liberty, my identity" mean "who I am when no one is stopping me from doing whatever I want and I am responsible for what I do". The only thing I don't like about the lyric is that someone might think it has anything at all to do with patriotism.

I am cursing my Diamine Onyx "Slimy Black" right now

Also, 2 albums are on all the normal streaming service and the next one will be on most of them in a month or so. But don't wait!

Because Bandcamp and Ampwall let you own your music and build a collection that actually reflects your scene while giving most of the money to the people who made it.

If you are curious what that sounds like, my recordings are linked from my bio.

Trans women's voices do not change automatically through hormones, and if we want them to sound different (and not all do), then we must do the work or get larynx-altering surgeries. I constantly struggle with mine, but I work on my vocal until it represents me and sounds as nice as possible.
