You've got to show up. Every time.

Even the boring ones, in my case a school levy and an infrastructure issue.

President Jimmy Carter has passed away at the age of 100. He was a symbol of what is best about America: kindness, compassion, duty and service. He will be missed, most of all by those who long for a return of that kind of country, led by a man with such strength of character.

RIP Jimmy Carter. A truly honorable and decent man.
Former President Jimmy Carter has died at age 100.

What a life.

What a legacy.

Thank you, Mr. President.

The fact that he is even talking about this today, while looking and sounding like shit as he whines, shows how much the President Musk thing is bothering him.

I have faced fascism before, in this very country. I was one of 120,000 Japanese Americans summarily rounded up and expelled from our homes at gunpoint, all for the crime of looking like the people who bombed Pearl Harbor.

I spent my childhood behind barbed wire. My parents lost everything. 1/

So much research showing the opposite, that doomerism depresses turnout. Heck there are even bandwagon voters, people who just like voting for winners and don’t actually have strong views about policies. Don’t be complacent, sure, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be optimistic
I am not convinced that the people who reply to every expression of optimism about the election with an admonition that overconfidence drives down turnout are behaving entirely rationally.
