JUST IN: A federal judge has barred ICE and DHS from using taxpayer information provided by the IRS.

Judge Talwani says that DHS' view that noncitizens lack 4th amendment rights — combined with ICE use of administrative warrants — is a recipe for abuse.

the Epstein files make it very clear why the MeToo backlash was so extreme and why so much of elite society preferred Donald Trump ruling us like a king to the barest hint of accountability

This post is blowing up, so for all the big name journos sharing it, some context:

This was a rally in Chicago explicitly calling for ICE to be abolished, and for a mass general strike to counter the Trump admin's continous attacks on our communities and civil liberties.
It's near-white out conditions in Chicago as the snow comes down, and tonight's anti-ICE/CBP rally is wrapping up in front of city hall.

But not before the crowd bounces and chants, "I believe that we will win!"

The more members of Congress and Congressional candidates we can get to commit to #AbolishICE, the easier it will be to make this a litmus test for Democrats. We *must* abolish ICE and throw these lawless state-sponsored terrorists in prison.
Virginia Congressional candidate @tracinski.bsky.social says #AbolishICE *and* dismantle DHS. It was created in a moment of panic after 9/11 and we're reaping the consequences now. We need Democrats in office who won't throw principles out the window when something scary happens.
Abolish ICE is the moderate position now.

What's even better is to dissolve the entire Department of Homeland Security, a big mistake we made 24 years ago in the post-9/11 panic.

Ghoulish behavior.
One of the stories that makes me the saddest out of this ICE invasion is one out of the Minnesota Star Tribune today about ICE agents eating at a little Mexican restaurant in the small town of Willmar, Minn, —and then, when they were done, arresting some of the workers.
