I gave ChatGPT and DeepSeek a copy of my thesis and had them produce a two page summary. I had to do some minor edits (AI was attributing ideas to me that I didn't invent, merely adapted) but overall it did great, and it was nice to see a short summary of what I contributed to math. Feels nice.

I'm using AI to help with my job applications.
I know we're still figuring out ethical AI use, but this feels ethical to me (obviously biased here though).

Anyone I'm debating with, the moment they are driven into a corner with no actual counterpoints to what I've said:
"You're being condescending"
But maybe even posting this is condescending, what do I know 🙃

That mathematician feel when you've been stuck on a proof for a few days and then suddenly realize the "obvious" fact that you've been overlooking that makes it all fall into place. 😌 So satisfying.

Applying for graduation, and likely defending my thesis the first week in April!
I started feeling much better about it today when I remembered that the thesis is double spaced so I've written more than I thought 😅

When you spent billions and destroyed your brand to recreate 1930's Germany and got 1780's France instead.

Love to see more convo about AI ethics and art.
I think a well paid artist using self trained AI to produce work in their own personal usual style should be allowed, maybe with a disclaimer?

Once the theft problem of major companies is dealt with...
At this point it’s been said in a hundred different ways, so I think people are being intentional about not getting it.

This is an incorrect calculation of the area of a triangle by a young Babylonian student at school around 1900-1600 BCE, excavated from the ancient city of Kish.

It’s a moment in the history of math, of education, of children, of mistakes, of people being people. I love it.
