I've been learning Scottish Gaelic for 3+ years now on Duolingo but my very favorite sentence remains, "Tha Niseag ag òl uisge-beatha," which means THE LOCH NESS MONSTER IS DRINKING WHISKY, and I look forward to some day using this in real life.

Brazilian singer Eva Rodrigues Praia Walkey, 40, has died after nearly 5 years battling severe Long COVID. She faced repeated hospitalisations, grueling treatment, and never regained her health. Her family confirmed she passed away on 18 November in Manaus, Brazil.

I looked up how to get rid of my neighbor's bamboo along our shared property line and everything I read was basically "DEAR GOD. SOMEONE PLANTED BAMBOO WITHOUT DIGGING A SIX FOOT DEEP TRENCH FILLED WITH CONCRETE AROUND THE AREA‽ ALL IS LOST. GIVE YOURSELF OVER TO THE BAMBOO."
Honestly, I had no idea that bamboo is a menace.

The last time I was with my immediate family, an actual lengthy conversation occurred wherein my mom, dad, and sister all discussed the score composers for various episodes of M*A*S*H and my husband texted me in the middle that he now understood why I wasn't diagnosed as AuDHD until my 40s.
It's a great cosmic joke that neurodivergence both runs in families and gets diagnosed based on parent reports. I was diagnosed at 30 because a man who has eaten potatoes every day for 57 years and a woman who collects loose buttons decided I was a perfectly normal child.
