My Aunt is in hospital with five broken ribs. She went by ambulance to two hospitals because the first was unable to help her. She'll be there for a few weeks. This will cost her, an 88-year-old widow, nothing.

Literally, nothing. And the only country surprised by this is America.

In the 90s, I genuinely thought the Internet would cure loneliness. But it turns out that for me anyway the Internet addresses loneliness the way alcohol addresses anxiety.

For years I justified my twitter habit by saying, "I need to be here to promote my books and stuff like the Project for Awesome."

Without twitter, this year's p4a raised a record $3,700,000.

Without twitter, Everything Is Tuberculosis (a history of tuberculosis!) is outselling my previous book...

Looking for Alaska was published 20 years ago today.

What a journey that little book has been on.

since i started publishing my first comic online in 2002 people have asked me here and there where i get my ideas for them. i never told anyone the real answer because they wouldn't like it, but the real answer is meditation. you have to turn off all your shit and look within. annoying but true

It seems there was a dinner at the WH where a military choir serenaded the orange turd and his guest with a rendition of One Day More from Les Miserables, and the ignorant fools loved it. This is what happens when you don’t read. People mock you to your face. 😹

History: “Eventually the incompetent fascists invariably lose power and then society recovers in a new and stronger way”

Me: “Oh, cool, so what has to happen for the spell to be broken??”

History: “mmmm…well, that part is less encouraging.”

I just have to say watching P4A this weekend was absolutely lovely. A healing beautiful way to push back against these toxic winds. Your whole team should be proud and I'm very happy you beat the record.

The #1 reported reason people avoid doctor’s appointments is because they’re afraid of finding out they have a serious illness.

If you have that fear, that’s normal and you’re not alone. Also remember, there is basically no serious illness that isn’t less serious if you catch it sooner.
