Though I’m a happy drunk who’s approaching the tipping point and pretty soon I’ll just be in love with everyone. Didn’t used to be quite this escapist.

That weird feeling when you think collaborator opportunist Tony Dokoupil can go to hell but also, Christ, so can reactionary grifter Megyn Kelly for mocking him.

The entire MAGA ecosystem. They’re all such awful people.

Something I used to love on Golden Globe weekends was how they close Whittier Drive to most traffic—usually this is a very busy connector between Wilshire and Sunset—and so I’d wander over for a stroll like it was the olden days haha.

For the first time this week it’s safe to use this road as you normally would without adding 30 minutes to your trip.

New Republic isn’t something a lot of people who need to see this are going to read.

But I appreciate an established outlet framing what actually happened so effectively.

There are more impressive sports books. Like, the multistory space at Circa downtown is particularly spectacular.

But I think if you’re gonna spend time at one, Wynn’s is the nicest.

The murderer with a gun is allowed to be afraid but not the woman who's trying to get away from the man who murdered her with that gun. Got it.

I have worried -- even though it's not something I'd have expected based on her persona -- that Dolly Parton is one of those people so emotionally connected to spouses they don't tend to last very long when widowed.

Las Vegas residency delayed by nearly a year and now...

I guess tacky MAGA dresses on the red carpet weren't doing it anymore.

Time for a new wacky PR angle because god knows it's the only way this woman's getting any press.

Met up with a friend staying at Harrah’s. Maybe not a pure tourist experience for me because—even though I don’t know it at all—I understand its orientation with the Strip. But finding my way in and out was still intelligent guesswork.

Amusing* when a ‘hot’ woman thinks I’ll abide insufferable rudeness or entitlement because she’s ‘hot.’

Try that with someone else, sister.

*Doubly funny when she’s not even someone I’d try to chat up.

And tomorrow the most expensive time of the year comes to a close.

It’s not just Christmas. All of my family members—and most of the friends for whom I buy presents—have birthdays in the quarter between early October and early January.

We should be ashamed and embarrassed to be a society in which people will willingingly, actively, point a loaded gun in the face of a fellow citizen.

A free society should be one where government employees don't put a gun to your face when you're exercising a core tenet of said society: free speech

Haha literally one of the only times Dad has ever called me—I could count on one hand, literally—is when he wanted to know what ‘that song from BOYHOOD’ was called.

Haha this @Alice joke is triggering PTSD from an early ‘90s night when I went to what I thought was a party—hosted by a girl I thought I’d definitely friend-zoned—and it wound up being a one-on-one seduction session with an SWV soundtrack.

Cold enough that I’m psyching myself up to get out and start the jets again.

A moment of wondering if I only imagined we’re already in the New Year.

How many times did I reply STOP to fundraising texts today? I’m not your guy, outrage merchants.

I think one reason we haven't seen local or state police told to arrest ICE (et al) agents on charges of murder or attempted murder is because it's not clear whether police would comply. Political leaders may or may not actually be in charge of law enforcement; they don't want to test it.

Thinking about a doctor who shot and killed his pregnant wife in Boston and blamed a Black carjacker.

These days a similar murderer could absolutely blame an ICE agent and be completely believed because A) it happens and B) they operate like murderous criminals with zero transparency.

Having just pulled on some shorts and a t-shirt for a short walk to a shop…in what turned out to be a serious windstorm, this drastic spread sounds right.

It’s been a while since I had to stop a buddy from doing something stupid and tell him it was time to go home. Like we’re middle-aged college juniors haha.
