Meds did nothing for me, but no quantity of the outdoors, nature or pets seem to ever entirely solve it for me, so it's just something I forever struggle with. For someone else in my family meds help them tremendously and without them they're barely functional.

Depression is unfortunately complex.

I'm not really a big fan of these generalisations of how people think or work, typical or not. Everyone is different. A family member is quite far on the spectrum and they don't convey direct answers. I can at times be much the same, because I don't know how to convey things directly either.
