This is 100% why Daniel Day Lewis has never really impressed me. Tom Cruise put himself in an ensemble piece (Magnolia) and allowed himself to just go nuts in Tropic Thunder.

This actually reminds me theres a Cards Against/Jackbox style game I saw previewed where they just play a random clip of an old schlocky movie, everyone enters a riff and all vote on the best.

There are two sets of theatre awards they hand out around here. One separates based on house size (<100, 1-200, 200<) and the other separates based on # of Equity (union) contracts they hand out every season. Mostly works but still plenty of unfair exceptions.

I think they could have gone after the Home Depot guys (but no further) and still been fine, politically.
