Something that is pretty cool with modern oligarchies is that through public trading we get a glimpse into exactly how they are fucking us over.
Historically this would all just happen behind closed doors 🤯

An observation made so many times: 100 years ago, oppression of the public was done through making enough people act as agents of the state and report their friends and family. Today we tell our deepest secrets to machines who are pre-made to act as agents of the state (or company, or anything...)

The few times I ever fallen for the temptation to open a youtube short from some creator I don't know, I have almost always been just annoyed at the extremely low and click-baity content. I really thought YT was supposed to be good at this algo BS 😤

I really need someone to make a non-AI version of "How to start an F-16" 😤

Listening to Sapiens (by Y.N.Harari) is a really uncomfy experience 😓

I'm a couple of chapters in and it's essentially just hustle culture propaganda. Where corporations was invented to allow innovation and where humans just used to be much "better" before "idiots" could be useful (and reproduce).

This looks really nice!
As many of you may know, I am just about release the new edition of Overgrown, my rules-lite naturepunk game about weird animal hybrids. To celebrate this, I'm looking to work with as many AP shows as I can to either have them play the game themselves or have me run it for them on their feeds...

One core lesson i wished more people learned about LLMs is: it's good at what it was trained on.

What value do you bring by asking it to summon a, at best, lightly flavored copy of something well known?

If you've ever wondered: how could we have a real time graphical interface in computers back in Win 3.1 times but, today, with such massive increase in hardware performance, you are still experiencing lagging and slow downs...

That is because the equivalent of vibe coders have always won...

I feel like there should be a word for that feeling when you realize that a friendship or relationship isn't what you were assuming... Maybe it used to be, maybe it never was... just that now it isn't.

It's almost like a lot of the people upset about itch haven't been online for that long... These issues will always be the issue with monetizing through others services... If you want control, you have to host your content yourself.

It's funny how the economic cycle is never that right-wing politics, in a state, increases to the point where people have it too good and they start voting for left wing politicians out of misguided comfort...

I am all for opposition to genAI, but some arguments against it is really out there... Almost feels like during initial Covid where antivax where criticizing capitalism in medicin but just reaching such bad conclusions...

Hey, is it just me or is there a connection between all the drama posting about Stop Killing Games and the slow realization among the former "alt-right" crowd that MAGA is indefensible?

I watched the new Jurassic Park movie and I really enjoyed it. Really felt that it gave me what I want from a Jurassic Park movie, the right flavor of adventure.

If anything I wish they had been nerdier about the dinosaurs... It went a bit too fantasy in some places.

I'm fairly comfortable with the inherent lack of meaning in the universe...
But there is a part of me that envies those who so firmly believe that there is a hidden truth to be found.

Realizing that, us dealing with LLMs is actually kind of a first for humanity when it comes to dealing with "stupid" entities. LLMs are uniquely stupid; they aren't like animals, machines or even incurious or uneducated people... and we need to figure out how to have reasonable expectations of that.

Ah yes, nothing like a power outage to realize how close to the surface the thought "is it happening now?" Really is 😓

... I'm just really tired...

Rolling for perception really is just rolling to get permission to carry on playing the game isn't it?

Actually got a chance to pretty properly test out my new TTRPG system and I definitely feel that I'm on to something 🤔
It definitely feel like a, for me, more usable version of Fate Core.

Don't get me wrong, I really love Fate... It's just very hard to teach and run as a GM.

Dear Windows developers... what makes you think that I ever want to restore a window _outside_ of the bounds of the current screen setup? 😩

P.s. I don't... That is never my intention when I restore a windows from minimized.

Someone pointed out that we should remember that Trump being president is about ethics in video game journalism... and now I'm just depressed about the state of the world :(

It's all connected in the worst possible ways...

Hear me out! How about a deckbuilding RPG where you do not control your character directly, instead you use tarot cards to choose their faith as they travel the world? 🤔

The trick to understanding tabletop RPGs which pride themselves on simulating reality rather than emulating genre tropes is that their designers' notion of "realism" is typically informed by popular fiction which bills itself as "realistic", which is itself a genre with a discernible body of tropes.
