There's going to be so much fucking magenta next year.
As part of that threat I'm finally throwing up the oddments page I've been meaning to make public on itch. I'm hoping to fill and empty this space with projects over the coming year.

You will be seeing a lot more of me in the TRPG space over 2026 than you have in the last two years and that is a threat!

In the soloRPG The Cold Dark, you must endure ever worsening conditions to explore human ruins deep within a boreal forest, all whilst some thing stalks you from the shadows.

If the cold doesn't kill you, IT will.

(The Cold Dark is currently on sale over on itch)

Heating on, teapot brewed, blankets fetched, hot water bottle full... Ready to watch!
My End of Year video is on the "Golden Age of Indie RPGs," from roughly 2010 to 2025. I start with Apocalypse World's release, work through the Google+ Era, and follow design lineages and historical events that have impacted the hobby up through 2025.

But first, privately roll d6; on 3-6 do exactly as the image suggests, otherwise do the opposite.

Keep me on my toes.

From my notifications I'm going to assume that starter packs are a thing again?

Every single boss fight in Silksong that has several rounds of adds and minions for its phase 1 is a weaker boss because of it. Truly terribly design for an otherwise incredibly good game.

In that weird end of year void and the only thing I'm certain is real is the butt groove in the settee I haven't moved from all day.

I've got a week; reckon I can fit another re-watch of The Expanse into 2025?

The universe needs a new feature in 2026 where anyone who even thinks about creating yet one more video on youtube about Carpenter's The Thing they get immediately fucking slapped across the face.

So, if Knives Out is set in autumn, Glass Onion in summer, and Wake Up Dead Man in spring, I really hope we get a winter mystery next.

Fucking love me a good winter mystery.

Knives Out, still good.

Seeing Jamie Oliver on my TV is a crime and should absolutely be something you opt into and not out of.

Huh. It really has been quite a very different experience of Xmas this first winter in about 20 years of not working in retail.

Loom, by @yuigaron.itch.io, is a LUMEN hack inspired by Hades, in which you play fallen gods trying to reclaim their seats of power. It's a fantastic blend of game system and genre, and just makes total sense.

The Long-term nuclear waste warning messages and physical landmarks stuff is exactly the kind of shit I want in my mega dungeons.

I've been walking around for a few days humming a little tune in the style of Hollow Knight/Silksong characters, especially Cornifer, only to today realise I'm humming the whistled song from '68s Twisted Nerve.
