It is kind of a weird simile, but anyone who argues that "it's too hard to host, I just want to make art" is basically using the same reasoning as "ai-artists" that says "it's too hard to learn to draw, I just want to make art" 😅

Radical idea, but self-policing is way worse than people being a bother about them being offended online.

Just my opinion but letting the fear to offend take the lead is the slow death of creativity... A lot of people seem to confuse "intentionally provoking anger" with "saying something that other takes offence to". The former is the bad thing. As long as you say things you can stand for, say it.

I hear you, but you are also comparing yourself to the aggregate of the entire space. I only know a few who, at times, create effortlessly.
But being frustrated at the money aspect of it makes a lot of sense and why I'm curious if you have some insight that I'm missing 😊

How is any of these things bothering you tho? Not trying to be dismissive here, but all of these things seems very optional.
The history of ttrpgs (and a reason it's super difficult to actually make a living on it) is that players can literally just use a cover image and make up a fun experience.
