"7 of the cited sources don’t appear to exist at all."

NOTUS: Epidemiologist Katherine Keyes is listed in the MAHA report as author of a study on anxiety in adolescents (and) was surprised to hear of the citation.

“The paper cited isn't a real paper that I or my colleagues were involved with."
Seven of the sources cited in MAHA commission's report do not exist:

“The paper cited is not a real paper that I or my colleagues were involved with," says one researcher.

My Saturday PSA:

Joe Biden isn’t the president anymore.

Instead, we’ve got a mentally deranged and ethically compromised old man with the nuclear codes trespassing in the Oval Office.

Stop talking about Joe Biden.

Start talking about the Convicted Felon, Donald Trump.

Are the Doppler radars that are used by local news actually owned by local news station? Or are they owned/run by NWS/NOAA?

The local news does not show rain on the radar in my area but it's definitely raining here.

Since this was published yesterday, NPR reports JAMA joins NEJM on the list of journals that confirms they’ve been sent threatening letters by Trump’s DOJ, ominously referencing their tax-exempt status in a bid to compel regime-friendly editorial choices.

The Scary Implications of U.S. Government Attacks on Medical Journals

PDP Activity Log submitted! Woot!

Thankfully, since I had done a mid- cycle review, my stack of "I need to enter these certificates" was not as large as it had been in the past.

It feels like a significant amount of quality news outlets are behind paywalls while absolutely none of the inflammatory right-wing ones are and in an age of overwhelming misinformation combined with increasingly poor media literacy I just have… no idea what we’re supposed to do about that.

I spoke to a South Carolina woman today who is miscarrying - her fetus has no heartbeat - but the state's ban is preventing doctors from taking action.

She has to walk around with a dead fetus for another week so she can get a FOURTH ultrasound.

This is what bans do.

Crusius killed 23 people because he thought Trump wanted him to? No death penalty.

Mangione kills a health care exec? Death penalty.

I’m staunchly anti death penalty, but it’s interesting whose lives are considered valuable.

Musk and Trump are trying to dismantle the VA by laying off 83,000 employees.

They are sacrificing the needs of our veterans to give tax breaks to billionaires.

That is something that the American people — Republicans, Democrats, and Independents — will never support.

American war planning usually takes place in highly secure facilities. But the Trump administration planned its strikes on the Houthis using a group chat—and accidentally included The Atlantic’s editor in chief, Jeffrey Goldberg. theatln.tc/IuULQFiY
The Trump Administration Accidentally Texted Me Its War Plans
U.S. national-security leaders included me in a group chat about upcoming military strikes in Yemen. I didn’t think it could be real. Then the bombs started falling.

RFK Jr. said in his Fox News OpEd that “Good nutrition remains a best defense against most chronic and infectious illnesses”.

The best diet in the world will not prevent infection if you are unvaccinated and sharing air with someone who has measles.

I'm in Phoenix for QuiltCon, but there was no way I'd pass up a farmer's market.

If you're at QuiltCon, consider walking over to the nearby farmers market for lunch to support small businesses. Market is over at 1pm.

In 1992 the US public health service recommended folic acid (FA) for all women of childbearing age. FA decreases the risk of infant brain malformations. A 2015 follow up study found that from 1995-2011, brain malformations had been prevented in ~1,326 infants per year. This is public health at work.

Pretty much every single person among the 100,000s the Trump administration is summarily firing is someone who works hard at a job where they earn much less than they could in the private sector, precisely because they believe in public service.
This comment on r/fednews really stood out to me. Trump and Musk want people to think they're firing do-nothing "bureaucrats," but they're really getting rid of people dedicated to serving this country and keeping it operational. I hope these stories get told.
