Just watching Trump go from tweet (even the old limit) length to these massive walls of text that nobody's reading is sad. He used to have it and now he just goes and goes and goes.

Five pages today? Mostly on extracurricular stuff that wasn't quite in the outline?

Not my finest hour, but I gotta honor the work of the Night Shift and figure that I'll find a way to weave it all together.

Well well well, if it isn't the consequence of my own actions.

Ever see something so straight it punches through and becomes very gay?
When I was watching XPlay, this Mountain Dew ad came on where this guy forcefemmes transgenderizes his homie.

If the value of a commodity is just sitting there not actually being used, is any of that value real? Asking for a cryptocommodity.

I know folks gotta eat, but putting up links to Patreon or Ghost-paywalled articles just makes me grouchy.

Oh, so "character as problem to solve/cure" is something we can talk about now? 'Cause c'mon. It's been endemic for a long time. Granted, the intensity level of the phenomena is different in the Prestige Streaming Age.

Through episodes 5&6 of True Detective. I'm brought to mind of discussions of old forms being loaded up and ramped up with new intensities of action onscreen and how the old stuff doesn't have a charge any more so it has to get juiced and more juiced in an effort to be labeled as mature.

There's not a single line in the new one that gets a laugh like this. I know, that's by design.

But I know which movie I'm still thinking about nearly 40 years on and which one will be "Oh yeah, that was a thing that happened."
I feel like the new Running Man is “technically” a better movie than the Arnold one, but the Arnold one is so much better at being what it wants to be than this movie is. It sets much lower goals but it meets them.

Letting fans shape the shows is a bad idea. Always was. Always will be.

Hold up. You're telling me that the lawyers appointed to a vendetta criminal case by an incompetent President are themselves incompetent?

Big if true.

one big part of this, which i mention in the piece, is that sometimes the episodes themselves are good! even great!

even then, penultimate flashbacks turn the whole season into a seek-and-find exercise where you're looking for the real show under the one you've allegedly already been watching

LLM based content concatenation has always drawn dudes who think they have the idea, the big idea that will bust stuff open and they've never managed to put together a coherent single thought. They seek the prestige and audience of getting out through a big and legit platform.
Bellingcat’s contact email has always been a magnet for people with fairly unusual views; paranoid delusions, sprawling conspiracies, the works. But recently, the pattern has shifted, we’re seeing more and more emails clearly written with ChatGPT.
