Is there a German word for feeling embarrassed for something that didn’t happen?

My 4-year-old is now going through a Ghostbusters phase, so we've been watching the cartoon. A lot of those episodes still hold up really well.

It's not spooky season until it stops feeling like the dog days of summer.

It's really difficult to teach a class on the US government when the Constitution is being destroyed at such a fast pace.

I have been embarrassed many, many times in my life.

But the worst embarrassment is when you're a teacher and you're just wrong about something, and you're corrected mid-class.

Hell will be an eternity reliving all the times I screwed up in the classroom.

"Our ancestors didn't eat [insert food] so we shouldn't either."

Our ancestors' life expectancy was 30 years old, so I'm not sure that should be the standard we're constantly using for absolutely everything we consume.

The tomato dominated the summer of 2025. Tomato salads and tomato sandwiches — they just hit the spot this season. And they were inexpensive. Thank you, tomatoes. 🫡

It's that time of year, again: time to sit through the same PD training modules I've watched since 2014. Summer is over.
