There’s a degree of financial privilege one has by virtue of being non disabled.
The ability to work, to not have to spend hundreds of dollars on medical supplies… it all adds up.
When you’re disabled the system forces you to remain below the poverty line, which just makes a person sicker.

I don’t know how anyone who witnessed the American response to a pandemic could possibly think that our citizens would be willing to accept higher prices “for ‘merica”.

It’s a natural part of life. If you live long enough, you will more than likely experience disability.
We should all be fighting for better social supports, inclusion and accommodation.
