This is a thoroughly delightful video from some linguists in Finland marrying Finnish etymology with Finnish folk dancing and even if you know nothing about any of these things their enthusiasm is contagious

Olisin toivonut, että Yle olisi vähän edes kertonut, mitä tämä synteettinen jää on. Itse piti lukijan selvittää, että se on siis muovia, polyetyleeniä. Ensimmäisenä tulee mieleen, että paljonko mahtaa syntyä mikromuovia tuollaisen raapimisesta luistimilla.
Synteettinen jää tekee tuloaan Suomeenkin – katso, miten onnistuu jääkiekkojarrutus
Synteettinen jää voisi korvata aitoa jäätä esimerkiksi harrastuskäytössä. Helsingin liikuntapaikkapäällikön mukaan tekojään kitka on vielä liian suuri aitoon jäähän verrattuna.
