I do truly believe that LLMs will eventually be viewed as akin to radioactive matter: indispensable and groundbreaking for very narrow specific purposes, and otherwise extremely toxic and harmful to anyone who isn’t a specialist taking appropriate safety precautions.

They present decontextualized authority: unsourced, unauthored, always confident.
And we are being trained to trust them as objective or as the Wisdom of Crowds.
