Every time I think "i could stay in Kansas city and make a long-term home here" so.ething happens that convinces me that this is a relatively temporary stop. I've been back for a little over 5 years and the things that have kept me here no longer have a strong bond.

Following up - this was one of the best shows I've ever been to. He talked Palestine and voting and the connection between US civil rights movement + him growing up in a free Ireland. We need more aware musicians/celebrities like him.
I'm so happy I decided to go my own way and buy a Hozier ticket for his OKC show rather than wait for a friend of a friend to "look for tickets" for tomorrow's shows in KC. I watched resell tickets come and go on ticketmaster today and haven't heard anything from the girl.

I no longer feel interference was at the level I thought last week. Seeing how many people (from various demographics) are gloating and/or are misinformed about politics, economics, history...I shouldn't be surprised.

6 days ago, I accidentally left my made-specifically-for-my-glasses clip-ons in a grocery store cart. Felt pretty shitty about it, but I left my name & # with customer service, just in case
They turned up today. Someone found them in the parking lot yesterday, and somehow, they are still *pristine*

I accidentally left my clip-on sunglasses in the grocery store cart, and the immediate negative self-talk that happened actually alarmed me. I had to gentle parent myself and do the whole "it was a simple mistake. It's not life or death."

This is still heavy on my mind. Talked it thru with a neutral party and they reminded me that friendships ebb & flow. As my mom says "Reason, season, lifetime". I know these are lifetime friends, but holy shit do those lives look different.
When you open up to friends after years of therapy and their dogged encouragement and one day* realize that they're not opening up to you.
Like, maybe it's bc we're in very different seasons of life, but why is my phone dry.
