Fascinating visit to the famous Llwyd Mansion in Oswestry today to see the structural work needed to save the building and learn more about the plans to bring the historic building back into use for the local community.

Farm shops play an important role in the rural economy. It was good to discuss this, and how we can best support them and their suppliers, with representatives of the Farm Retail Association. #farms #ruraleconomy

I've been pleased to support this important Bill - and am delighted it will soon be made into legislation, bringing an end to the appalling cruelty of the cross-border puppy trade.

We need to:
💡Reduce household energy bills
🍻Cut VAT for hospitality, attractions, accommodation
💷Introduce a windfall tax on the big banks to pay for it
We need to tackle the cost of living crisis and help our High Streets.

This plan will put £270 back in your pockets.

🚨 Today I raised the issue of drug dealing and county lines with Home Office ministers.

☎️ Many of you have contacted me to flag concerns in your area.

🚔 We need more community policing to clamp down on dealing, ASB and all rural crime.

It was great to be out chatting to people in Shawbury over the weekend!

It was great to see the Lingen Davies Sunflower Appeal launched in Parliament last week - a wonderful local charity.

I also met Education Minister Josh MacAlister to discuss support for St Martins School after the fire.

After a few days in Shropshire I'm now on my way back to Westminster...

We already have several brilliant community-owned pubs in Shropshire and it's great to see people in Pant coming together to try and buy the Cross Guns.

If you're interested in finding out more, there is a public meeting at Pant Memorial Hall this Thursday at 7.15pmpm, or visit: crossguns.org.uk

⌛ It's been seven years since my constituent reported historical sexual abuse - and it's set to be another two years until the case goes to trial.

➡️ Court delays often go unnoticed but they take a huge toll on those involved and must be sorted out.

Good to hear from residents on the doorsteps on Friday when I visited Morda with Councillor Andy Davis. I also met lovely shopkeeper Jas, who recently won an award for her work helping the local community.

It was an honour today to join the parade and service for Remembrance Sunday in Oswestry, and to lay a wreath at the war memorial. We will remember them.

Ahead of Remembrance Day, I was proud to dedicate a cross of remembrance in honour of North Shropshire personnel who lost lives while serving their country. The Gardens of Remembrance are a moving memorial in the heart of Parliament. This weekend I will be paying my respects in North Shropshire.

This week I joined colleagues from all parties in a run for #Movember and men’s health week. The planned route was 4.5k - marking the 4.5 fewer years that men live on average compared to women. It was a great event and it’s good to see men’s physical and mental health raised in Parliament.

➡️ Everybody serving should have a clean and safe home to live in.

🏠 However, accommodation for armed forces is often not good enough.

🛏️ It's good news the Government is planning to upgrade Service Family Accommodation, but urgent action is also needed to improve Single Living Accommodation.

Great to see the finished poppy cascade unveiled in Baschurch on Saturday. A huge well done to Pauline and everyone involved in creating this stunning work.

And just up the road from another beautiful display in Myddle - what a talented bunch of people we have in North Shropshire!

⚡ Making homes more energy efficient makes sense - it saves electricity and saves money in the long-term.

💷 But I've heard from several constituents whose taxpayer-funded changes have gone wrong.

➡️ The Government must do more to protect consumers and ensure value for money.

#WearItPink

Great to meet supporters and staff from Breast Cancer Now in Parliament this week to celebrate Wear It Pink.

The charity is doing wonderful work researching breast cancer and supporting people affected by the disease.

I am baffled by the decision to withdraw support from someone who has lost their leg but remains determined to work.

I hope this is a case of 'computer says no' and that the Minister's intervention will make sure that common sense is listened to.

It's a tough time to be a farmer - so it's great to see organisations out there talking about mental health among farmers.

I met Yellow Wellies, the NFU and others in Parliament this week to talk about the challenges facing family farms, mental health provision and rural sustainability.

📈 The cost of living keeps rising but for those with pre-1997 pensions their income is not keeping pace.

➡️ I challenged the Government on this yesterday but the Minister appeared to miss the point - the only solution is a change to the law.
