The crap thing about being a mother person is having a meltdown and knowing I'm going to be the person cleaning it up later.

It totally ruins the experience.

At 3am my mind suggested a new approach to insomnia. A gratitude list. On further reflection it suggested not using gratitude to suppress anxiety, and that starting by listing my anxieties and then moving to gratitude might be better.... Did not work so well.

I prefer focussed curiosity to hyper focus.

Hyper has quite a edgy vibe to it that does not always apply.

ICYMI: Have you read Dawn Vogel's interview with me on History That Never Was?

It came out right before I left for Barcelona and got lost in the shuffle, but there's a lot in it you'll want to read - about hidden themes that connect all the stories in RESURRECTIONS, plus more.

Life is so mysterious.

I received a message from someone after an eight month silence.

She says, How are you?
I respond with a well crafted very short summary and ask how she is.

She sends a flower emoji.

What ever could it mean?

I love the word Autistic. It combines the feel of a large echoing chamber, the sound of a drop of water evaporating in a hot pan and the impact of a pick on a wall of ice.

And it goes well with Anarchist and Alchemist too.

Hi #kidlitartpostcard ! I'm Sayada, a Trini illustrator living in the PNW. I love drawing food, people, animals and fun magical things, such as the ghost of a pumpkin enjoying a relaxing pie bath.
I'd love to work on some more picture books soon, or delve into the world of chapter books and covers!

I like the way my mind works but sometimes I wish my insights could arrive while I'm with others in real time having the conversation, rather than at 3am.
