NYT Bestselling author. Lies to children for fun and profit. You probably have a dog named Heidi but I don’t need to hear about it.
Good morning from my bed where I have turned on a white noise app to drown out the sound of my alarm going off in the bathroom, where I keep it to force me out of bed.
Oh no, I’ve outsmarted myself.

Everything is garbage but last night, I sent in the first draft of a contacted novel for the first time in a decade so I’m going to make a little treehouse in this moment and live in it for awhile.

I co-founded #5amWritersClub way back in 2012. At that time, I’d get up, put on a robe and slippers, stumble to the kitchen for tea, let my dog out, and settle into my office by 5am or so. 1/3

The censorship algorithm on Twitter reduced our audience by roughly 95%, and seriously, who does that to a wildlife biology & advocacy group ?

I’m in the waiting room at the dermatologist and they are playing I Smell Sex and Candy. Huh.

I’ve had an account here for a while, but tossed a coin and ended up spending my time on Threads—I’m fairly social media monogamous. However, it seems more of the people I want to keep up with have landed here, so hi! Catch me up. What have I missed? Other than the Alf hog thing.

This didn’t fix anything, but it helped.

Gender is a construct and gender roles are stupid, but my husband has been in the kitchen starting some kind of festival of meats for over an hour already so happy boy thanksgiving to all who celebrate.

I came home from a few solo days away to find we are all out of oat milk. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers at this trying time.

My dog, David, and I are on a little solo retreat. I brought him for company, because he is most bonded to me, and so my husband didn’t have to worry about him while he is at work. But it appears David also needed a vacation. He is having a wonderful time.

I spent the last week in full Rot Girl Winter mode, slowly decomposing on the couch hanging out with Jake, snacks, movies, and video games—no plans or appointments, even unsure about the day of the week.

I went to see Joy Ride this afternoon and love it! (I would die for Deadeye.) Have any of you seen it? What did you think?

We are going to list our house in a month or so. Today, I am packing up most of my office because I have a feeling that my creepy dolls and puppets, tarot cards, and books on witchcraft might be as off putting to some people as live, laugh, love and wine o’ clock signs are to me. ☹️☹️☹️
