Tomorrow, a certain online mega-retailer launches a book sale, just days before Indie Bookstore Day on 4/26. This is no coincidence; Bookstore Day is one of the largest revenue drivers for indies.

Indies need our support to thrive & build community spaces for all...mega-retailers do not.

Dare I ask: are we there yet? We’re officially 2 months to go before my travel memoir exploring the power of family histories #theallureofelsewhere hits shelves, but you can get a head-start and #preordernow!

Can’t wait to hit the road with you!

This book is changing everything about how we understand what makes lyric essays tick and how we teach them. If you don’t have it yet, go now. You need this book.
Happy Birthday to this book! Hard to believe it's been a year. Huge thanks to @karenbabine.bsky.social for midwifing it, and to everyone who's read and/or taught it. I have absolutely zero concept of what, if any, impact it's had in the world, but I hope it's been useful.

🧵—the main goal is to create mutual aid
I've seen folks ask - how do we fix this? In the US, in the world, in our politics, in our culture?

The right is on the warpath, worldwide. We're watching the 20th century's wins be dismantled, actively - what can we do about that?

My answer - the same things we did to win them in the first place.
