To give you an idea of how today's travel is going—it's 3 hours after boarding and we're back at the gate waiting to refuel. The flight attendant has just gone through the plane announcing we can all have as much free alcohol as we want.

Once again, it's that time of year when we bake an unreasonable quantity of cookies and spend ~10 days trying to decorate them all. This first day, we were still depleted after the 5 hours of baking, so production was low. We'll kick it up a notch tomorrow.

My oldest son (in his 30s) had to have his glasses repaired after he damaged them by walking into a wall while talking to a squirrel. He was, in his words, "telling him how handsome he was." He described this accident as "very on-brand for our family" and, let me just say, he's not wrong.
