Noise canceling headphones are probably the most important and usually only adaptive tech I use. I got the Sony WH-1000XM5 3 years ago and they died last month 😭 I’m trying the Sennheiser Momentum 4 this time

So here's the thing with vibe coding when you don't actually know the language (typescript). I had an error on my static webpage generator that I gave to gemini - it generated a whole bunch of code to replace the config with. The actual solution is this one missing line...

I'm trying to be more disciplined about keeping notes for knitting esp because I have been doing it so sporadically that it takes forever to pick projects back up after a break. Doing a complex cable project; putting all the screenshots and annotating the pdf using @obsidian.md was a great idea 🧶

I must confess that I as a person born in Taiwan have started regularly eating and referring to spicy Doufunao as “Fern Brady’s Soup” (in a Scottish accent) since that episode of @taskmaster.tv

Bases continues to be *chef's kiss*. My main use case for @obsidian.md right now is to keep track of my environmental scanning/research and the cards option have made the previously clunky dataview codeblock look so pretty and more usable for getting a quick overview 😍 #obsidianmd

I debated writing this. It can feel tempting, upon encountering yet another instance of this administration’s racism, to let it be. How many ways can you say the same thing over and over again? And yet we have to write it down, if for nothing else, so those who come after us know we were against it.

Techbro nerd: Works for big tech, coded some insidious AI bullshit that's constantly spying on you, lowkey probably a fascist.

Linux nerd: Sometimes insufferably hyperfixated and pedantic, but ultimately just wants people to control their own devices and digital lives.

Know the difference!

When you copy and paste a random quote from Hannah Arendt in as a placeholder to test a local random quote generator plug in and then you read back the quote... OOOF.

I think I’ve fed every vampire in Ottawa with the amount of blood I’ve had drawn for tests in the last 2 months 😵‍💫 (just some preemptive diagnostic testing, nothing serious, mostly just miscommunication between healthcare institutions that resulted in more samples being needed actually 😅)

We love to see other people arrive at the same conclusion when all day is spent being asked “so what” and “why should I care”

A new study on generative AI argues that addressing biases requires a deeper exploration of ontological assumptions, challenging the way we define fundamental concepts like humanity and connection.
