Thought of the day.
I think all artists can relate the the part where Frankenstein was like "I am going to make a man that is SO BEAUTIFUL" and then when he's finished he's like "I fucked up."

Ray Foushee was a Louisville fixture who made the culture there richer and more bearable to many of us growing up in the 70s and 80s. We met a couple of times due to our mutual love of comics. Ray was kind, engaging, and lived up to his on air persona. Thanks for everything.

The greatest rice and sodium packet kit in a cardboard box of all time. Add 1 can chicken and a cup of frozen broccoli. Put the avocado oil back in the cabinet and use butter for the fat. Hot sauce optional.

Yo.
I really want to see comics twitter rebuild itself here.
If you think of yourself as part of that world- whether that means creative, editorial, marketing, retail, library, academia, journalism, criticism, active fan- reply with a "yo" so the funnybook people can find you. RTs help, too!

Oh HBO Max. Your algorithm might need some tweaking. Or at least teach it a little more about context.

Do the Work in any context is one of the hardest things to remember. It will be going strong for months then just vanish. I don’t blame this guy for going human post it note on his arm with a reminder.
My first tattoo which I got somehow only 8 years ago. A reminder that anything I want in life I have to do the work for. Even ordering takeout I still have to order it. Everything requires work needed no matter big or small. So just get that done and move on to the next thing.

Cracked. Up.
Monkey Mart, how can I help you?

No sir, our monkeys are completely healthy. Yes sir, in the prime of life. They each have a veterinary certificate.

Sorry, no. Fit as a fiddle. Every last one of them. They can live to be 30 or 40 years old.

No sir, we don't sell "cancer monkeys," I'm sorry.

“I Killed Hitler” authored by Ralph Milne Farley in 1941 created time travel’s favorite quandary. It was reprinted once in 1950 in his Omnibus of Time collection. Despite its obscurity, everyone knows the concept. This is my contribution to the discussion.

This summer has been more “making comics” than buying any. Still, a few interesting things made it home with me. I’m pretty sure I had the Kotter as a kid. For the curious- Flames of Gyro is a pre-1980 Fantagraphics effort. Corben, Kane, and Stanley are self-evident.

I had no idea that I wanted to see an account called “Things Bowser May Have Eaten” until today.
I had no idea that Pizza Rolls go back to 1968 at retail. This means that they would have been around at the time of Woodstock.

“Post like Neil is Watching” is as good a guiding principle for civil but meaningful public discourse as we could want.
*I rarely troll anybody in social media, but when it comes to the Bluesky environment here, I'm gonna pretend that ol' Neil is standing in the room at all times

*Instead of cyberpunking out, I pledge to be obliquely courteous in my public comportment; this is an interesting social experiment here
And was also why I was explaining to the original poster that insult tagging wasn't the Bluesky way.

From Hero Illustrated 24’s coverage of the Spirits of Independence Columbus stop in 1995. The inking on the rocks and dust is my most widely circulated work. Gerhard exclaimed “The rocks are nice- who inked these rocks?” Bonus trivia- Justin Colussy-Estes inked the ball on the flag pole.
