One thing about me is my mom is from one of the toughest streets in the city and my dad is a retired marine/coal miner. I spent all weekend watching churches fail Nikalie's baby formula test. Today I watched a church threaten, harass, bully, and record a homeless woman they found sleeping in her car in their parking lot. I'm proud that I've spent my life "tithing" to actual charities instead of for-profit churches.

Just a note, Bryan Adams is singing his ass off, sounding amazing, just like Pat Benatar, & by the looks of them, not one drop of botox or filler between them. I have no problem with cosmeceuticals but it's so nice to see well-aged people looking so beautiful and still like themselves.

I loved this book so much. Longtime friends with history, scars, and monsters to defeat. It reminded me of something Stephen King said about IT, that it was a coming-of-age story dressed in a Halloween costume. Very appropriate for today! 🧡🖤💚

I watched a HORRENDOUS movie last night. So bad I don't even want to say the name lest someone go seek it out. But I will ask, what did we do to Jackie Earle Haley? He was such a great actor, great trajectory and projects, what happened? Was it the NOES remake? Because I think HE was fine in it.

I wish ellipses A) had spaces between them, so we could feel the pause visually (I do this in my books when I can), and B) had the first period just normal, the second a little wider, nearing a 'ground-hyphen,' and then the third was kind of a smeared-to-the-right ground-hyphen

Eczema is so weird because I beat a guy's ass* in the parking lot after a Willie Nelson concert, but I'm literally scared of scented deodorant.
(*it was well-deserved, he was assaulting his girlfriend & her son & the son ran to me for help. I don't just habitually attack men.)

I'm really trying to enjoy The Boys (just started watching), but the amount of unnecessary* animal cruelty is so egregious and upsetting. I'm not sure if it's worth continuing.
(*Not that it's ever "necessary" but this shit doesn't even drive the plot forward.)

Luckily, it didn't actually ruin the friendship. Life took us in separate directions but we remained friends with no awkwardness 🧵

Superman was wonderful but as much as I loved it, it left me feeling raw and sad with a lump in my throat. The allegory came through really clearly but it makes me sad that in reality, evil can't be defeated, truth can't be told, and love doesn't win. This will stick with me for a long time.

Wearing new Chucks is just embarrassing. They're all clean and the toes are bright gleaming white and all the rubber piping is in place. You can tell just by looking at them that they've never been puked on or had a Miller Lite dumped on them in a pit! I miss my old faithfuls 😿
