It’s all so dumb. They’re like “if we were healthier we’d be healthier why won’t anyone believe us!!” No one disagrees that eating right and exercising are good but lord will that not cure a cancer.

And to make it worse, parents will buy their unhappy, unpopular or akward child a cache of guns to sooth their discontent. Then act shocked when they use them in the same way that previous unhappy discontent teens have; mass⚰️.
Also, 💯 same parents that lecture/blame indulgent "libtard parents"🙄.

Some of us have witnessed this shift in how we think about guns. We have become a society where gun culture & glorification has become a religion in itself. There are generations who grew up equating guns with masculinity & virility. They have replaced the cool sports cars of previous generations.

By refusing to limit & control acces to guns, in spite of the enormous suffering & needless death, we have clearly cemented the idea that guns are more important than lives. We can't complain about those who see gun violence as an acceptable means of dealing with anger, confusion or disappointment.

I think #1 will occur if you fix number 2 first. But, you need to reduce the white evangelical cabal’s stranglehold on white males feelings about themselves. That’s fucking hard. 1 and 2 are doable but the Christian evangelical warrior preaching supply side Jesus are causing most of 2. It’s shit!

Joking aside, mental health screenings are of limited use. We simply NEED to 1. Reduce the number of guns in the U.S., particularly assault rifles and long range weapons, and 2. Fix the toxic masculinity problem.

If only there were, like, some way we could, I don’t know, screen people? Like to decrease the chances that a gun will get in the hands of someone with a tangential relationship with reality? Idk just a thought
