62 years later, and counting.. yet it is as true now as it was then.
Alt text on image has full version of that portion of the letter. Although I highly recommend reading the entire letter.

Trump’s latest “plan” to fix healthcare is a joke. Instead of tackling sky-high costs or holding insurance companies accountable, he wants to send Americans $2,000 — just so we can hand it right back to Big Insurance.

Does anybody else see the scam here?

By sending us $2,000 to give to billionaire insurance CEOs, and by tripling the interest we pay to mortgage companies while he continues to limit what we can write off, he's effectively looting the treasury and using us a mules to launder the stolen money; funneling it to the wealthy.
QUINTANILLA: What's more likely -- a $2,000 tariff rebate check or a 50 year mortgage?

So glad this man is retiring. What a waste of a senator and a career. Great way to be remembered, senator. Trump capitulation isn't a nice look for your swan song, but at least you won't represent me anymore.

The fact that we recruit people into the military with promises of lifelong benefits, then turn our backs on them the moment they leave service, is a national disgrace. The political firings and removal of benefits from trans veterans only deepen that disgrace.

Instead of funneling endless amounts of money into our bloated Pentagon budget while thousands of veterans face homelessness and hunger, let’s use those funds to truly take care of our veterans — ensuring every one has a home, food, and access to medical and mental health care.

Disgusting. My son, a Federal worker & his co-workers, who are not getting paid until this is resolved, but continue to put in their 10-hour days —still, .they are furious that the 8 Senators refused to hold the line. It was a stab in the back to everything we’ve been standing against.
