Current events take me back to when I visited the Plaza de Mayo in Buenos Aires. Among other things, it's a memorial to 30,000 people "disappeared" by the fascist government in the 1970s. Their mothers and others have protested in the plaza every Thursday ever since for justice to be done.

The Democrats have played a major role in my radicalization. The Democrats plead that they are different and better than the GOP/MAGA and that they are champions of progress. But they've convinced me. They don't even try. I've gotten so fed up with being let down and deceived.
I don’t think mainstream elected Dems realize yet how radicalizing it is for us to watch them vote for Trump’s nominees. The “lesser of two evils” calculation no longer makes sense when they do this.

Actions such as protests and boycotts may not get through to the people in power, but that does not make them worthless. In fact, their impact on the powerful is not even the main point. The main point, and the true power, of public mass actions is creating solidarity among the people.
