Nerdy, gothy librarian in DFW metro. Happy childless cat lady in my crone phase of life. Woke AF leftist🌹 Lover of truth, goodness, and beauty: words, art, music, nature, science, the earth, and all its people.
It was a good turnout and full of good energy! I wasn't too sure what to expect since I usually attend events in the larger cities. It exceeded my expectations! I am proud of Allen and Collin County

The only (legal) way I see to take effective action is a general strike of 11+ million people. Pledges are being collected here:

I thought that sort of atrocity could only happen in other countries. But we are well on our way to it here in the US. If we do not act now, it won't be long before tens of thousands of Americans have been "disappeared" too, mourned by tens of thousands of families.

I think one reason transsexuals are such a huge political target is that they challenge the rigid sex and gender binaries upon which patriarchal power structures have been built for centuries. As a woman and an LGBTQ+ ally, I say to hell with patriarchy. We deserve better.

Our lack of fast, efficient, and affordable nationwide tranist is also a huge hurdle for people getting together across such distances. It benefits nobody except the auto and oil & gas idustries and those who fear so many of us banding together.

Self-care is a type of radical kindness, as rebellious and revolutionary an act as any public demonstration. I'm saving myself from burning out. I'm preserving myself for the next public demonstration next Saturday and for many important things to come.

I felt guilty and down on myself for not attending a protest I'd planned to attend today. But I told myself the words I wrote above, and I stopped feeling that way. That's the way our hypercapitalist culture would have me feel. But it's that hypercapitalist culture that is wrong.
