Akagi Attacks! A flight of Aichi D3A1 Val dive bombers unleashing destruction.

These are old kits from Airfix and ZTS Plastyk. Perhaps Wingsy Kits' new 1:48 tooling in 2025 will shake things up a bit!

Today’s story is “Masks of Whatchamacallit” by Kyoko Hayashi (trans. Kyoko Selden).

This is a powerful and grim (and very important!) story by an atomic bomb survivor from Nagasaki.

Every day I discover a new lyric by Bob Dylan, or even a new quote, interview, passage, song, whatever it may be.

And every day I fall deeper in pure love and admiration for this man.

The Dylan community is the best, warmest and wisest one there is.

Happy Holidays, everyone. To many more years! 😎

Ever since I've been reading more about the atomic bomb events in Japan, I've been more alert to how crucial it is to advocate for this cause.

Coming from a country that never had to worry about this, I somehow felt disconnected to it. These interviews are thus fundamental to raise awareness.

From a Robert Hilton 2004 interview with Bob Dylan, in which Dylan is fabulously, inspiringly direct on the craft of songwriting. I do wish I'd read this at 13, & then been told to reread it until at least some of it sunk into my dense head: if you want to emulate an artist, study their influences.
