Won't sugarcoat it: This has been the shittiest start to any presidency in my lifetime. And I’ve lived through Nixon, Reagan, and George W. Bush. But there are heroes among us, and Bishop Budde is a shining example.

There are those few who actually deserve the title of hero. Charles Person and the 12 other Riders counted among the ranks of those rare ones.
Charles Person, the youngest of the 13 original Freedom Riders who traveled from Washington to Birmingham, Alabama, in 1961 in an effort to integrate interstate bus terminals across the South — and who were nearly beaten to death for doing so — died on Wednesday. He was 82. nyti.ms/40qH6I6

It was a pure joy moment to be able to see Mavis in concert in 2023 with Bonnie Raitt.
You’re the US Marines band at the White House and Mavis Staples 👑 walks into the room so you start playing "I’ll Take You There" and this happens👇

Gotta love @eff.org genuine efforts to take the high-road, find the silver-lining, believe in the greater good. As for me, I’ll bet on the political manoeuvre low-road.
We applaud Meta’s efforts to try to fix its over-censorship problem but will watch closely to make sure it is a good-faith effort and rolled out fairly and not merely a political maneuver to accommodate the upcoming U.S. administration change.

I learn something new every day and forget a dozen other things. Today I learned me so much big brainy stuff about MotoGP data that I’m probably gonna go full Flowers for Algernon.

Outstanding video @matoxley.bsky.social & Peter Bom; thank you!

Can’t tell if @matoxley.bsky.social is fully taking the piss with this idea but I like the idea. Sadly in my experience, BigCorp megadeals only seem to enshitify the things punters love. Cynical side thinks there’ll be little upside for GP fans in this deal going through.
Here you go: my super-brave prediction for MotoGP 2025 😅 And how Dorna can keep KTM on the grid if the Liberty deal goes tits up 👀 the terms of the deal state that Liberty must give Dorna £100 million in compensation if the deal is terminated 🤑🤑

This can't go on.

Let's stop prioritizing the subsidized destruction of the West and start prioritizing wildlife safe public lands.
