I was already sold on the idea of making a day to commemorate this yesterday, but last night’s miserably anxious night has convinced me it’s nothing short of a necessity rn.

May 6th, 2025 will be Transliterary Preservation Day. Thank you @adaframe.bsky.social for sparking this.
The image in question: on May 6th, 1933, the Nazis burned the library of Magnus Hirschfeld’s Institute of Sexology, which included thousands of irreplaceable texts of trans literature, now lost.

So much of the work we’ve been doing the last few months has been learning from Hirschfeld’s mistakes.

Trans archivist Ben Power could use some help right now. A lot of people don't know about Ben's Sexual Minorities Archives, which he's been running for fifty years (!) as his identity and the organization have evolved. Let's give him a hand up if we can.

My sophomore short film, "Cruel Images", is out.

It examines the now-forgotten 1941 German blockbuster "Uncle Kruger", an epic about the Boer War and the British concentration camps in south Africa, filmed while a Nazi concentration camp operated only 20 miles away from set.

Haptera Press, run by @algaeross.bsky.social, aims to be a home for trans-authored stories with a special interest in historical settings that contextualize our past, present and future. Initially I aim to publish digital zines, but my hope is to eventually be able to offer limited print runs.
