Locking ourselves into an alliance with Mango Mussolini is looking more dangerous, untenable & ridiculous every minute.

AUKUS is a complete & utter millstone around our necks.

Bleeding us dry of taxpayer funds & putting us at ever greater risk.

Quit AUKUS now.
Review all US alliances.

AUKUS is likely the dumbest defence decision Australia has ever made.

$500 billion or more for second hand subs that may never arrive…
While many other areas of our society are suffering from lack of investment…
CSIRO

Rockingham in Perth's south is fast becoming a crucial part of the AUKUS nuclear submarine deal, with promises of a big boost in jobs and infrastructure — but it's also leaving residents afraid for their lives and lifestyle.

Australia Institute research shows that nurses pay more tax than gas and oil companies.

Meanwhile, multinational gas companies get 56% of our gas for free and then export it overseas.

Surely @chrisminnsmp.bsky.social you’ll appoint armed, private security, change laws, policies etc to increase protection & …
No?

1. Stop approving new coal and gas projects. Not “offset”, not “abate later”, not “approve with conditions” - just stop.

2. Put climate into our national environment laws so projects can be refused on climate grounds. If it can’t be stopped because it’s dangerous, then the law is broken.

I think it’s foolish to try and separate the rise in antisemitism in Australia - which is real and has happened, even if the likes of Netanyahu try to conflate recognising Palestine as a state with what antisemitism is, hating Jewish people…

It’s all connected.

It’s a current day example of “first they came for”.

And now it’s time, Australia, that we stand with the communities they’re coming for.

First Nations community.

The Muslim community.

And the Jewish community.

I was very disturbed by a piece on @abcnewsbot.bsky.social today. They were covering a report done on 'faith in democracy 'in Australia but seemed to mix up the difference between confidence in our elections and distrust of our politicians. We don't distrust in the electoral system here.

Taxation shapes the society we want to live in. It facilitates the provision of public services and is a key policy lever to reduce inequality. Too often the decision of how and who we tax — or do not tax — is shaped by vested interests rather than asking what is best for most Australians.
