Pierre Poilievre has bashed asylum seekers who crossed at Roxham Road and has pledged to “track down” and deport many of them.

Now it turns out his own relative did exactly that—and then got help from Anaida Poilievre and a MP’s office to stay in Canada.

'Deeply hypocritical’: Pierre Poilievre slammed ‘illegal border crossers,’ but his own relative crossed and stayed ⋆ The Breach
Anaida Poilievre’s uncle lived undocumented in Canada and received help from her and a MP. The Conservative leader has said such individuals should be ‘tracked down’ and ‘deported’

Maybe you’ve spent a lifetime waiting for parental acknowledgment of your accomplishments. You relentlessly seek validation with every positive change in your life & wait for words filled with pride. What if you celebrated your wins on your own terms, instead of pleasing others?

'View from Albert Bridge Road,' by Terry Frost was painted from the window of his lodgings in Battersea in 1948. Then studying at Camberwell, he had met Victor Pasmore who would have a huge influence on his work. His first abstract painting, followed a year later.

This cartoon is literally just Plato's analogy of the ship of state, the OG anti-democracy argument. Its continued popularity is, in fact, very bad.

In The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco, after hearing about a massive & deadly scapegoating, the narrator asks why the peasants didn't attack the landlords, their true enemies, & is told, "When your real enemies are too strong, you get weaker enemies," & every day I think about this & also see it

“Trump’s team wants Trudeau out in favour of the populist Poilievre”

Exactly. They want someone who won’t fight for Canada and will capitulate easier to the American side. This is a huge compliment to the PM.

Like Brian Mulroney before him, Pierre Poilievre should plan a trip to Washington once Donald Trump is inaugurated

Imagine that your entire job is getting paid piles of money to understand how Washington works, and you're caught by surprise that Donald Trump is doing exactly what he repeatedly indicated he would do www.politico.com/news/2024/11...
Washington’s lobbyists are stunned Trump chose RFK Jr.
They’re holding their fire and hoping Senate allies will block his confirmation as HHS secretary.

Hi everyone.

The Onion, with the help of the Sandy Hook families, has purchased InfoWars.

We are planning on making it a very funny, very stupid website.

We have retained the services of some Onion and Clickhole Hall of Famers to pull this off.

I can't wait to show you what we have cooked up.

The satirical news site planned to turn Infowars into a parody of itself, mocking “weird internet personalities” who peddle conspiracy theories and health supplements.

Was never a Liberal, never planned on supporting one. But 2 Fed elections ago I could see the MAGA-fication of the CONS. Voted Trudeau as an 'against' CON vote, not really for him.

But man, he's done some good stuff. I will vote for him again. [and he's the adult in the room]
Been saying it on the other platform for a long time: voting out a few shitty Premiers will improve our day-to-day lives the most vs. rinsing Trudeau. And it would be a good hedge against a Poilievre government.
