It’s all workshopped on Black communities first. We told you to end qualified immunity. But you were all too scared to look like you weren’t “backing the blue.”

And here we are.

Just made it to my first TDoR. Here to mourn my friend/pen pal who just happened to be trans. I miss him. I do not miss the transphobia he experienced almost every time he sought healthcare/home care. Transphobia cut him down, just as surely as if they’d used a gun. He’s gone but transphobia isn’t.

My brother died of #COVID kidney failure in May '20. The failure was in the haphazard application of PH measures and the sheer hubris of health professionals who out of some egotistical idea that they knew best, promoted the fomite theory of #COVID spread. We should've listened to AIQ engineers.

It has just been announced by Baroness Hallett that the UK #Covidinquiry has found that up to 48% of the people killed by Covid in the first wave would not have died if the Govt had locked down just one week earlier (and as advised by Science). 23,000 people died unnecessarily.

So much land. So much valuable land now in the hands of a government that has been trying to sell off the greenbelt, provincial parks and Ontario place.

It is not conspiratorial. It's recent history.
The government says Bill 33 has received Royal Assent and is now law.

It will make it easier for the education minister to take over school boards in the province by appointing a supervisor and sidelining trustees. #onpoli globalnews.ca/news/1153148...

A theme of the Hallett report is that decisionmakers routinely underestimated the ability of the public to deal with complexity & accept hard trade-offs.

It's a problem that continues to plague our politics. One lesson of the pandemic is surely that we can have more honest conversations with voters
