Feels like we spend far too much time considering managerial ability and nowhere near enough time considering ownership competence.

We probably need to think less about an owner's willingness to making big signings than their willingness to reflect on their own (and the senior execs') performance.

Can't help but feel that most extremely wealthy people have never been in a situation where creating a nurturing culture for young employees is important, where employees have no interest in or respect for the business owner and where you can't simply direct staff to deliver your aims.

From Manchester United to Crawley and Morecambe, it seems to be an almost universal phenomenon that rich men believe running a football club successfully will be easier than it in fact proves. What is it that someone owners learn and why do some seem never to learn?

It would be fascinating to see a study looking at the speed and success with which billionaires take to owning Premier League clubs and to see if there's an correlation between success and either personality type or industry background.

Which service station? Gloucester services is very lovely, I think Frank could even pick up some hair pomade there

He said our manager will probably be the next to get sacked and he said 'it's ridiculous' and he lamented the days in which managers would stick around for more than a year and a half, he's of the opinion that there's only so much managers can do without the full backing from a board

Yes, I expect a forward in this window, and tbh it needs to be two. And please please please let us sign a left-footed LB!

I hadn’t seen his press conference, only just read about it but yep few managers survive when they openly vent about their relationship with the board — appears that communications broke down. Just when I thought Utd were getting somewhere!

TL:DR It’s on Enic. Enough of this jam-tomorrow diet of promises you’ve been force feeding us for a quarter of a century. Either be serious about this or get out of the way so another lot can have a crack.

If there isn’t and they can’t afford to sack Frank, still spend big now. Keeping him in post but not backing him would be the worst of both worlds. We are not a club in any position to indulgently twiddle thumbs and chuck seasons.

Keep their 15th choice of manager in post and back him. If they don’t think he’s the man for the job get rid, but only if there is a better appointment out there now who will sign on now.

Enic need to put their money where their mouth is and show some actual ambition for the football side of things, now. Spend big on proven, off-the-peg quality. No more of this ‘for the future’. There is scope to do this.

For all the gripes about the fans, 60k still rocked up in the freezing cold yesterday. Give them something to hold on to and they’ll not only keep coming but will get behind the manager and players. So…

While the football is grim, the club is in a relatively good position, just about. Thanks to the mediocrity of the league, a decent run could feasibly put us in for European places. There is also the CL and FA Cup to play for.
