“It’s time to change the narrative. Tommy Robinson does not represent the majority of Britons. We aren’t afraid. We’re angry. And we won’t be defeated.”

No person seeking asylum is illegal; there are no illegal routes. No person seeking asylum is illegal; there are no illegal routes. No person seeking asylum is illegal; there are no illegal routes.

How many times?!!?

P.S. No person seeking asylum is illegal; there are no free iPads in hotels.
This whole summer only one story has dominated our entire politics & it comes down to literally 30,000 people in hotels. Ridiculous.

The government needs to get a GRIP it’s pathetic.

After years of advocating for family reunification, today Home Secretary Yvette Cooper has suspended all family reunification applications.

As she has pointed out many times before, this announcement will drive more people into the arms of smugglers.

What is going to be achieved by reversing the (already tight) 56 day move on policy? More vulnerable people being made homeless, forced onto the streets into an incredibly hostile environment with no support and unsafe situations.

How does the Home Office think this will end?

The spreading of false information is damaging.

Circulating it will only incite further violence and hatred - involving schools, and children, in these misrepresentations is incredibly dangerous.

Trump congratulating Starmer on his "very strong" stance on immigration" should speak terrifying volumes about the direction that Labour has taken.

@dailymail.co.uk fancy running an article on this, for your readers?

This is what happens when our leaders relentlessly scapegoat people seeking sanctuary. When they label new arrivals "strangers".

It won't end until politicians stop whipping up hostility and division for political gain.

The recent UK-France agreement aims to manage Channel crossings in the form of a "one in, one out" policy.

It's a tentative step in the right direction, especially in offering some legal pathways for those with family ties in the UK.

Slight positive this week in the Government's announcement to end the use of asylum hotels by 2029.

This is a hopeful step towards reducing the reliance on hotels, which promote segregation from society and exacerbate trauma and mental health concerns for residents.

People who have experienced displacement are our neighbours, colleagues, classmates, and friends.

Migration will always exist. We will never be strangers.
We don't count people's worth in numbers. It's hard to watch politicians celebrate falling migration just days after they labelled people who've built lives in this country "strangers", so today, and always, we want to be very clear:
Newcomers are welcome and they always will be.

The government is legitimising Reform with anti-migrant rhetoric while alienating long-time Labour voters by shifting to the right.

This won't defeat the far right, nor will it improve lives ruined by austerity - it's clearly a lose-lose strategy.

The UK’s latest Immigration White Paper has landed - and it’s safe to say it’s not light reading: new rules, tighter routes, and a strong emphasis on “earning your stay.” Titled 'Restoring Control (Control?!?!?) over the Immigration System', I have tried to break it down in 6 posts 👇
