It’s not mean or unkind to live in reality. Lament the state of our political discourse, but don’t give our reality-based truths away to someone’s misfortune or tragedy. Does anyone deserve to get shot for being cruel? Not necessarily. But being a cruel person who gets shot doesn’t make you good.

ALSO, he’s not a politician. He has been elected to no office. He worked some campaigns in college then dropped out to become a full time political violence agitator. Does he “deserve” to be shot? Who cares! He got shot. And it’s not wrong to keep in mind that, had it been you, he would not care.

Whether or not you support political violence won’t change where we’ve come to, nor where we’ve been for some time in this country. I am quite taken aback by how many people only invoke the term ‘political violence’ when it happens to a person with power. It’s political violence the other way too.

My biggest disappointment about Kamala not clearly breaking with the genocide is how much it was not reading the room. The palestinian friends had suffered with loved ones bombarded, starved, killed for a year. They weren't debating, they were crying in grief and terror.

I don't by any means think this reflects on her personally, but I think it's *extremely* telling that she doesn't want to see a single person saying this...and turned off the replies, which was certainly the only way to ensure that.
I don't want to see a single person saying this was warranted by the carnage in Gaza, that this was for Palestinians.
I am a Palestinian person and I do not want senseless acts of terror committed in my name. I don't want Jewish organizations to need extra security because of fear of violence.

This doesn't make any of us safe. This doesn't help any of us. My heart breaks every single day when I see what is happening in Gaza. I feel helpless. I know many of you do too.
But when people enact violence in our name, it makes everyone less safe and it makes peace less likely.
