To me this reads like a TMZ puff piece that quotes a bunch of random things without actually saying anything new… also it’s pretty obvious which agent likes to run to the press over time, maybe should consider not having their players

Got the FIFA rejection email and I’m not even sure if I would’ve bought tickets or not but I wanted to be the one to reject them rather than the other way around 🥲

FIFA can f*** right off for about the 100th time this month
A few days after Cristiano Ronaldo was at the White House, FIFA says it has suspended the remaining two games of Cristiano Ronaldo's three-game ban for violent conduct, meaning he can play in Portugal's first two World Cup games.

Coincidence or not, it's certainly timing.

A welcome addition in Denver imo
Some not all that much of a secret Denver Summit news:

That’s a lot of tickets sold for the Denver Summit opener at pretty expensive prices…

The TV times this season suck for TV and in person audiences
The WSL is concerned about the 12pm slots allocated by its main rights partner, Sky Sports, after 71,000 people watched TV coverage of Arsenal v Chelsea. Briefer views and social media engagement understood to be more encouraging
WSL concerned by Sky broadcast slots after low TV audience figures for derby
Arsenal v Chelsea had a TV audience of only 71,000 with the Saturday noon kick-off believed to be a factor in the drop-off

This was essentially a core thesis of the super league when it started re: wages. It hasn’t really materialized in any headlines so far and I doubt this is where Trin ends up but it highlights the domestic option
DC Power of the Gainbridge Super League have extended an offer for free agent Trinity Rodman that the NWSL can't currently match due to the salary cap.

Jessica Berman: "We want Trinity in the NWSL and we will fight for her."

If this award is regular season only, I do think Vlatko probably got robbed in his last season of coaching. I get that Louisville finally made the playoffs but going from 9th to 7th is not convincing enough for me
Leading Louisville to their best year yet. 🔥

That’s 2025 Coach of the Year Bev Yanez to you.

If owners are investing hundreds of millions of dollars… feels like the salary cap going from say 3.5M to say 5-6M shouldn’t be that crazy
on the business side, Jessica Berman shared why top media markets are a “major consideration” in expansion and how family-friendly timing impacts the broadcast schedule

feels like the #NWS is leaning on some traditional business it as maps out growth, especially in her defense of the salary cap

Terrible start to the second half 🫠

That is a LOT of defenders…

And the broadcast just didn’t show the end of the game?

Did Orlando not learn the lesson of not giving up a late free kick to Gotham

The league going to 18 teams will probably dilute some of the “most competitive” claims the league can make and then they gotta sell these extra games to broadcasters without many of the household names that got the league here
The good news for the NWSL: women’s soccer is growing thanks to increased investment and competition.

The bad news for the NWSL: women’s soccer is growing and the current salary cap is not gonna cut it.

Trinity Rodman is the final test. All in? Or fall behind? www.nytimes.com/athletic/681...
NWSL can’t keep Trinity Rodman and its current salary cap. It’s up to the league to choose
The rest of the world, and its biggest clubs, are watching the league's decision closely.

👀 (I mean she was absolutely not helped by her teammates there)
been really cool seeing Arnold get back to her best recently, big day again for her
November 15, 2025 at 6:56 PM
And one of those clubs is presumably Kang’s…
Trinity Rodman’s representation is in negotiation with the NWSL over her future in the league, as interest from teams abroad continues.

The 23-year-old will be a free agent this offseason.

Two of the finest New Jersey legendary exports who both hailed from the same conference, playing against each other (and me) in high school. A fun journey to have followed 🙌 (and which now makes me feel old)

A 2 month mid season break feels like a lot… almost like 2 preseasons. I understand the idea of this but I’m curious how players feel about it and how it works around the FIFA calendar etc
BREAKING: MLS owners have voted and passed a schedule change. The league will run from the late summer months through May.

This is due to start in summer of 2027. MLS will take winter break in Jan/Feb

Less venue congestion for NWSL if that happens…
Sources: MLS owners are expected to vote on flipping to fall-spring calendar at Thursday's BOG meeting. Could happen as soon as 2027.

Also: Changes to competition format expected too, including single league table + divisions.

Well with the way this is going I actually think witnessing last year’s embarrassment was better than this year’s embarrassment?
May all the Arsenal fans in Munich today witness something less disastrous than last season and avoid that very long helpless stare with the players post match

NWSL Foundation research funded by said stadium owner…
Jessica Berman, answering @pcattry.bsky.social about Atlanta's stadium having artificial turf (an annoyance for players + teams), says #NWSL doesn't view it as simply grass vs. turf. “Not all playing surfaces are created equal.” The new NWSL Foundation will fund research, she says.
