Genuinely think anyone can “git gud” at any creative craft they are interested in. If we wanted to actually “democratize” art we would invest in housing, healthcare, food and education as human rights. All GenAI does is make people even more financially precarious and less able to pursue a passion
I think a bit of the "AI is democratizing art" argument is trying to avoid the ugly truth that to get good at anything you have to do a lot of it. I grew up "knowing" I was a good writer, but I really wasn't until about 700k words, and it took reading hours of scripts to really have a voice

the vibe in this artist's opinion is that marketing for a large company (spotify, youtube, apple, whoever) isn't necessary. instead of sharing a marketing-approved package of numbers, write posts or blogs about the music you are loving year-round, it is so so much more exciting for me to see that
