The federal opposition may be desperate and irrelevant, but the way it has politicised the Bondi Beach shootings is a shameful low, even by Liberal/National subterranean moral standards.

Our hearts are shattered – and some have broken them further
There is no going back to where we were before December 14. But a social contract Australians relied on has been destroyed by the Coalition.

Two kinds of people think it's impossible to advocate for a Palestinian state without killing Jews: antisemitic terrorists, and hardline right-wing Israel supporters. ICYMI @saletan.bsky.social: lnk.thebulwark.com/4oYhjQo
Don’t Blame the Australia Attack on Palestinian Statehood
Advocates for Israel are claiming that support for Palestinian statehood entails violence against Jews. That’s wrong—and it’s a recipe for terrorism.

So as everyone kind of knew, when Chris Minns talked about cracking down on protests and gatherings, he really meant specifically pro-Palestine and anti-mass-murder protests: racist, white nationalist protests (probably attended by neo-nazi anti-semites) are completely fucking fine

Kristen Welker will be "interviewing" Todd Blanche on MTP tomorrow.

Do you think she'll ask why Ghislaine got moved and has a puppy?
Will she ask why Blanche ordered the kidnapping of Ras Baraka?
Will she ask about Trump's witch hunt against Comey and James?

Your reminder that the Purcell "principle" is "it is always too close to the next election for a ruling that would benefit Democrats, and it is never too close to the next election for a ruling that would benefit Republicans"
A question we got from a reader:

“How can they say it’s ’too close to the election’ to make changes in Texas when the new maps themselves were just drawn!? Isn’t that ‘too close to the election’ too?”

We answered! Check it out here: boltsmag.org/mid-decade-r...
The Escalating Race to Redistrict: Your Questions Answered - Bolts
How are the new maps changing the midterms? Why are courts not doing more? Would proportional representation help? We’ve got answers about mid-decade redistricting.

The Oxford Mail reporting on this is absolutely wild. What a bizarre editorial stance.
Ww have an example of this in Oxford today. Fewer than 15 far right people on a pathetic march compared to 150 anti-racist counter-demonstrators. And what does our local paper do? This biased reporting focused on one of the far right. 1/2

SNAP is a lifeline for workers in low-wage jobs.

Meanwhile, CEOs are paid 280x as much as the typical worker.

Don’t be angry at workers for using food stamps.

Be angry at the corporations paying them so little that they need them.

Our politicians want to “crack down” on hate speech.

Fair enough, but shall we “crack down” on hate guns first?

The idea that peace protests are in any way connected with an IS attack is absurd, an excuse to protect government from scrutiny.
