I’m so glad there’s still big advancements in modern medicine, a promising treatment for Huntington’s and a malaria vaccine within a few years of each other. God bless the medical researchers www.bbc.com/news/article...
Huntington's disease successfully treated for first time
One of the most devastating diseases finally has a treatment that can slow its progression and transform lives, tearful doctors tell BBC.

I couldn’t remember a word today so I called it the thing in the sink that chews food, turns out I meant garbage disposal

We have a smart gate at my condo complex, I thought it was weird at first but my front gate just texted me to say someone used the package delivery gate code to get in and now I kind of dig it. It’s good weird

they just announced a newer, harder mode for Elden Ring: Nightreign, but I think the part where it says you may die in real life is just a joke

I do not like that modern tvs have software updates. Can we roll back the clock on this one?

Sometimes I like to stop and reflect on the fact that there is still kindness in the world, like my childhood ice cream man who would sell me candy on credit and let me settle up once a week

Is it weird to wait for your thirties to start getting in to baseball, or is that when people usually do it? Like do you start at either age four or thirty four?

I was looking forward to this, dammit

Happy Black History Month! Here is my favorite story about a Black American you may not know about: Robert Smalls. He commandeered a confederate ship and sailed himself, his family, and the other enslaved crew and their families to freedom. THROUGH waters controlled by the Confederacy.

Every time someone complains about health insurance, my mom says “imagine how much worse it would be if it were free”, in case anyone was wondering how there could be anyone who doesn’t support universal healthcare when everyone hates the current system. They genuinely think it would be worse

Verbatim Books in San Diego is a community cornerstone, they organize all kinds of cultural events and have supported local arts groups like Burn All Books (no they don’t burn books). One of my favorite places in San Diego.
Here's your daily reminder that bookstores keep the love of reading alive — but they also keep neighborhoods beautiful. They are places to gather, to celebrate stories, to find community.

Please do your holiday shopping at your local independent bookstore, if you are lucky enough to still have one.

Two of my siblings moved out of state last year, including the one who used to host family events. The only family left who can host is my in-law’s in-laws. I spotted a Qanon mug on their kitchen counter last visit and my spouse is working, so I’m alone for Thanksgiving this year. What do people do?
