I have very, very little interaction on here with folks I actually know (or anyone else much). It's a really hard forum to plug into and I'm struggling to see it take the place of meta. It's almost more lonely than nothing at all.

Intermezzo by Sally Rooney

Smut for the emotionally intellectual. Slow, calm, the characters are all likeable in their own ways. It's a comfort read. Éanna Hardwicke is a most excellent narrator.

“Flights,” by the Polish writer Olga Tokarczuk

I'm not even sure what to say about this book, one of the more bizarre rambles I've taken in a while, and I like it. Lovely prose, darkly funny, hallucinatory.

You know that video of Koko the Gorilla signing a scripted, heavily edited "message to humanity"? Ok but hows about some Koko deepfakes exposing various unhinged conspiracy theories? I think that would add a nice touch to *gestures broadly at the internet* this place.
