After 39 days of quiet, the clock resets.

At 5:14 p.m., a beige-gray column of ash punches skyward from Mount St. Helens—the first eruption visible in daylight since May 18.

Two more pulses follow at 6:25 and 7:01. At peak, ash tops 59,000 feet. It's a big show.

Wow. Nice show! Note the color change in the sky shortly before the winds sheared the camera off the tripod mount. Capitol Hill East, 7.1.25 @capitalweather.bsky.social #dcwx #thunderstorm #stormfront

#MSH45 | Witnessing the Blast I
A plane over the Green River valley caught the moment the north flank of Mount St. Helens collapsed.

The pilot turned north. The cloud gave chase. They escape.

Photos aired in Seattle. Photographer unknown. 45 years later, maybe not too late to solve.

#MSH45 | Ash Sunday
The sky goes black from Ellensburg to Yakima, Moses Lake to Spokane.

Some have no warning—just a wall of cloud rising on the western horizon.

In Pullman, 250 miles from Mount St. Helens, it comes in from the northwest. By 2 p.m., the sun is gone.

Apparently surface rupture during the Myanmar 2025. I'm very surprised by the weak shaking along the rupture. I'm not sure if this is the main rupture (I would say no - nonetheless, VERY COOL). Author unknown, location Thazi (to be confirmed)

NEW: Minnesota’s graduation rate just reached the highest level on record.

Two years ago, we made the single-largest investment in public schools in state history.

Today, we’re seeing the results.

Keith Haring died of AIDS aged 31 on 16 Feb 1990.
One of his last works, Unfinished Painting, was deliberately incomplete, reflecting the devastating, unquantifiable loss to the arts due to AIDS.
