Today is August 11. On this date in 1464 polymath Nicholas of Cusa passed away. He made contributions to science and mathematics. For example, he introduced the counting of the pulse, which up to his time had been felt and discussed in many ways but never counted.

The U.S. is the only major country on Earth that does not guarantee workers a paid vacation.

When a husband, wife & kids are unable to spend any time together on vacation, that is not a family value. It's an attack on everything a family is supposed to stand for.

Unacceptable.

R.I.P. the great Hy Eisman at 98. Hy was my first ever lettering instructor at the Kubert School and a fantastic one at that. He drew everything from Little Iodine, to Archie to Popeye. His comic art was also appropriated by Lichtenstein which Hy found out only recently.

Today, we have more income and wealth inequality than ever before.

But the greed of the oligarchs never stops.

Now, in order to get huge tax breaks, they want to cut back on Social Security, Medicaid and veterans programs.

Together we can stop them. We must stop them.
