This is a person that sought and campaigned to become one of the most powerful people in the country and has used that power to advocate for real harm against people who are vulnerable and defenceless. Nobody forced her to do that.

Does anyone have any idea who the person behind the youtube channel "argonota" was? It closed at some point since last November. They had an absolutely incredible version of a Dziga Vertov film that I'd love to watch again. It had a bunch of old silent films on it and it was great.

My thoughts today will be on the legion of people victimised by the Catholic Church and the persistent unwillingness of its leaders to stop it.

I wonder if Adolescence has anything to say on the subject of schools relying on constant videos to do their teaching for them and how that might contribute to the central tragedy. Probably not, don't worry about it.

God this is absolutely nothing like my dreams about Luigi Mangione.
Last night I had a dream Luigi Mangione escaped prison and came to like this weird orphanage that I was in to visit all the kids and teenagers and he like posed with them for photos and stuff and then I was given the secret mission to help make sure he wasn't busted and taken back to prison

Finally got around to reading THE SHINING and having only seen the 1980 film was not prepared for what a heartbreaking character Jack Torrence is. Every little surrender he makes, every bit of resistance just draining out of him. It made me feel awful.

There are about 1.5 million unemployed in the UK and about 800,000 vacancies. The government does not care about forcing disabled people to work --they know the jobs aren't there. What they want is to be rid of them, one way or another.

The disability benefit cuts proposed by Kendall and Reeves are every bit as cruel and murderous as anything done by Cameron and Osborne. The paper-thin justification is also the same. Nothing about this is "necessary", it is a choice. And they'll continue to do it as long as they are permitted to.
I mean Jesus Christ, this is not normal is it. This is how people behave in a village in the woods led by dictatorial puritans, or in a Clockwork Orange panopticon, and not in a liberal democracy - which Britain purports to be despite very obviously being neither.

It is extremely clear that Israel has broken international law in multiple ways. Collective punishment, targeting medical facilities, taking deliberate aim at civilians including children, enforcing famine. The UN and Amnesty International have confirmed it. So why can't an MP say it?

Trump’s anti-trans Executive Order is bad BUT it technically defines everyone as female. It states:
“'Female' means a person belonging, at conception, to the sex that produces the large reproductive cell."
Since all fetuses "at conception" are female, Trump just defined EVERYONE as female.
