Having served in multiple countries run by ruthless dictators, I am accustomed to their tactics for keeping their populations under control. One of them is to employ a legion of fake opposition figures who promote the false narrative that "all parties are the same, so why bother voting?"

I used to think I liked Bill Maher. Now I’m realizing I mostly enjoyed the comedy bits that his writers wrote for him. His appearance on #PodSaveAmerica today was a perfect encapsulation of why his voice doesn’t matter. He exists only to smugly assert that he already knows everything and we don’t.
