A pair of longtime summer residents wanted their new full-time New Jersey house to have the same grand, traditional feel as other homes in the area. But they also didn’t want it to look like every other Victorian in town.

Just ask an editor about that... 🤣
That college essay making the rounds is bad, but in terms of writing skill, it's pretty par for the course.

The sad truth is that there are a few million upper middle class white parents in this country who genuinely fail to grasp that their kids don't know how to write.

For everyone who has to deal with difficult people today:

Grey rocking works. I did it before it had a name
Be kind to yourself and those you actually care about
Play with the dogs, cats, and kids and admire the flowers

It does get better. Sometimes it takes a little work and time but it does.

If this is a true concern, then the state should stop violating citizens' civil rights.
The soaring cost of settlements New Mexico agencies are paying in lawsuits drew the concern of lawmakers at a recent budget hearing — along with the rising cost of civil rights liability insurance occurring as a result.

Maybe someone should look into the tracking and disposition of all those gifts he’s received. They are gifts to the nation, not to him. If he keeps them, he’s supposed to pay fair market value. Maybe he can keep gifts <$25(?), but I don’t think that covers gold bars or all the other shiny objects.
This is why a con man shouldn’t have been allowed to become President!

Amazingly, they make these things called ovens that will cook a turkey without blowing up your home...

If you're hellbent on doing it the hard way, just use your barbecue (which I actually did the year it was 100F on Thanksgiving in So Cal).
There is a post circulating on Bluesky encouraging the moving of a frozen turkey straight into a pot of hot oil. We are combating this misinformation the best way we know how - through the power of dance music.

Please stop saying, "but Schumer voted no!"

This isn't how the Senate works. They had a conference this week where evidently there were enough Dems who wanted to fold. So they needed exactly 7 to take the hit, and chose the ones who are retiring or not up for reelection next year.
